Westrec's New Haulover Marine Center

Originally designed to accommodate 508 dry storage spaces, the completed building now has 488 hurricane ready racks to store power boats and houses a New Office, Retail Store, and Bath House

Westrec Marinas held the official grand opening of the new Haulover Marine Center in March 2017

This 488 space boat dry storage facility is nestled between Sunny Isles and Bal Harbor, located directly on the Intra-Coastal Waterway at Bakers-Haulover Inlet in North Miami Beach, Florida.

This state of the art facility replaces a decades old existing open rack system while adding nearly double the dry storage. Westrec Marinas has successfully accomplished leading edge design, engineering and construction of the following improvements:

With construction completed in September 2016, this new marine center is a 488-rack fully enclosed dry storage building rated to withstand a Category 5 hurricane. Prime materials, including concrete and galvanized steel, were used throughout.

The building was designed specifically to hold the larger multi-outboard engine boats that are popular in today’s marketplace. It is five racks high and accommodates those vessels up to 60’ in length overall

A brand new level parking area was constructed as part of the project and provides adequate parking for marina tenants and beach goers alike.

In addition to being home of the largest marine fork lift trucks ever made that were special ordered for this marina, an innovative elevator lift system was also installed for the launching and retrieving of vessels.

The new building includes marina office, retail store with fabulous gifts and souvenirs, bait shop, restroom and shower facilities and marine repair services.

Phase II of the project is currently remodeling the existing Haulover Point retail store and fuel dock at the southern end of the Park adjacent to the inlet, with completion expected in late 2020.
